There’s a slight bulge on the lower-outer corner of the headlights. The Subaru’s is more angular than the Bimmer’s though.

It’s a styling trend. It’s not a very good trend but a trend among manufacturers right now. I think of it like tail fins on cars from the 1950’s or round everything on cars from the 90’s.
